- Writer and editor who helped transform university’s admissions marketing effort by shifting from school-first tone to one that makes prospective and current students heroes in their own life stories.
- Told stories that demonstrated the value of a Bentley education by producing content that showcased the university, its students, faculty, and staff (2020–2022).
- Chief copywriter and editor for all undergraduate and graduate admissions marketing and recruitment efforts, including yearly viewbook; financial aid, campus life, academics, and career services brochures; and campaigns targeting prospective new, transfer, and international students (2013–2020).

- Oversaw copy desk for New England’s largest alternative weekly newspaper. Worked closely with staff writers and freelancers, fellow editors, and design department on the development of stories dealing with a wide range of subjects, from criminal justice, politics, and media criticism to profiles, pop culture, and food.
- Maintained Phoenix style — a mix of AP, Chicago, and house styles — throughout publication, both print and online.
Boston Symphony Orchestra Inc., Boston | Associate director of media relations (2000–2006) | Media relations associate (1997–2000)
- Directed day-to-day media-relations activity for world’s largest orchestral organization, covering Boston Symphony and Boston Pops orchestras, Tanglewood summer music festival, and Symphony Hall in Boston. Managed office of three, including mentorship, goal setting, performance reviews, and hiring of permanent and temporary staff.
- Pitched, scheduled, and mediated print, radio, and television interviews with conductors, guest artists, orchestra members, and BSO administration. Nurtured relationships with local and national media, including the Boston Globe, New York Times, ABC’s Good Morning America, NBC’s Today, and CBS Sunday Morning.
- Developed and implemented media strategies for positive exposure of organization through news and feature stories, season announcements, press conferences, calendar listings, and photo releases. Regularly scheduled events included:
- Opening Night galas for each BSO, Boston Pops, and Tanglewood season.
- More than 250 concerts annually, including BSO and Boston Pops in Symphony Hall and 10-week Tanglewood season in Lenox, MA.
- Boston Pops’ annual July Fourth concert on the Charles River Esplanade, a nationally televised event that draws an audience of 500,000 people.
- Boston Pops CD releases (eight during tenure), as well as CD-signing events with Conductor Keith Lockhart.
- Responsible for all written BSO publicity material, including press releases, media alerts, orchestra and staff bios, and talking points for senior staff, conductors, and musicians.
- Served as an orchestra spokesperson, fielding questions from print, radio, and television journalists as well as members of the general community.
- Traveled in publicist/spokesman capacity on domestic and international Boston Pops tours (25 total, including visits to 29 U.S. states as well as Japan, Korea, and Canada).

- As town’s chief elected executive officer, coordinated COVID-19 response with Board of Health, School Department, and public safety officials.
- Chaired a six-month study of the benefits and consequences of Clinton’s split property tax rate in 2018, leading to a board commitment to reduce the split that has brought it to an historic low.
- As chair of town’s Cable Committee, re-energized Clinton’s presence on YouTube, allowing residents without cable connection to watch meetings live and on demand.
- Member of Downtown Steering Committee that oversaw a $4.5 million renovation of Clinton’s downtown district.
